Withe Buddha [whythe budda] -- A new old way of playing music. Before there was MULF there was a band consisting of only two members. They played... well... alternatively... using a vast variety of voice effects and such hullabaloo. This band never achieved getting a name, though it did travel under such aliases as Lars Ninja's Party Band and Ninja64, but the band has now "reunited"* under the name Withe Buddha. There are two main words when dealing with Withe Buddha: Improvisation and experiment, much like jazz 'though there is no real comparison. Experiment: The two members play all instruments and swap these between numbers. For instance: on the first album released by Withe Buddha Søren plays the guitar on track one while Claus sings and plays bass on the first track, while on track 3 Søren is handling the bass and doing the singing, while Claus takes care of the drums (with the guitar hangin' 'round his neck). Improvisation: Only the three last tracks on the album where written ahead of the recording session. The others (the ones named "untitled") were all pieces of improvisation. Actually, one of the two MULF songs on the album, "Hello Sun", was an old pre-MULF/Ninja64 song (as are the MULF songs "Happy" and "Baby 1 more time") The last track, "Ja-Pils", a song about a beer, was made by the Danish band FJOLS (the original is available [HERE]) The Name: Originally the name should have been "White Buddha", but as a result of a typo Withe Buddha became the name, which wasn't that bad an idea... See, White Buddha can (almost) only be interpreted as Jesus Christ (I got the idea off a French text, in which a Buddhist tried to explain who Jesus was) and being that we aren't all that religious it would be a wrong signal to send... although many a MULF text had Jesus innum. Plus there is the racial issue, but I never really considered that, being it was a typo 'nall. The Withe Buddha name does have its advantages. If pronounced the way we want it pronounced, it will sound like: Why bother? which, more or less, is the essence of Withe Buddha... Exodus: There you have it.
